About Me

I grew up in beautiful Western Washington between the Cascade volcanoes and the Pacific Ocean. According to my family I loved rocks at an early age and use to fill my pockets with them at the beach when I was two or three. I remember being very excited about the new house we moved into because it had a huge rock pile (landscape feature) in the front yard. It was my first rock collection!

Latter I attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg. There I found geology. Ellensburg is a wonderful town to go to college in and it’s in the best spot for geology. There are so many different features and types of rocks with in an hour drive that we went on field trips practically every week! But after four years they kicked us out into the real world. My first geology job was working for a gold company in Spokane WA. That lasted all of about six months.

About that time I married my best friend and we were blessed to go on amazing honeymoon across Europe, climbing volcanoes, swimming in the Med, seeing beautiful churchs, and priceless works of art. We loved it so much we moved there two years ago.

After we got home it was time to look for a job in earnest! And not to long latter I got a call from a mudlogging company in Oklahoma. I’d never been on an oil rig before but I was up for anything. That was almost five years ago. Some might say I never looked back.

Over those five years I are seen some very desolate places and many crazy things. I’ve had the opportunity to work in faraway places like the North Slope of Alaska and the North Sea off Scotland. As always the people I have meet along the way are unforgettable.

So there you have it. That’s me. Married, living in Rome Italy, working in the Mississippian basin of Oklahoma, and traveling the world.
